CHAPTER SEVEN

I stared at Gabriel’s naked behind under the soft white moonlight as we made our way back to the altar.

I don’t know if you could call it marriage, but it might as well be. Typical normal marriage seemed so limited to what was to come. Something told me the bonds between werewolves were more binding than anything in the human court system. I felt my lips curled up into a smile.

Human court system.

Once this was all over, could I still call myself human?

I thought about couples the world over both straight and gay just before they stepped out of the ready room and onto the carpet. Those were the last few minutes before their identity changed. In a few minutes, they wouldn’t be boyfriends or fiancés. They’d be someone’s husband.

It’s what I dreamed about, but I still couldn’t believe everything that happened in the last hour. Each forward step was slow and methodical almost as if it belong to another man.

Gabriel slowed just before the opening to the grove. His warm fingertips brushed against the back of my neck with reassurance. I smiled back and leaned into his touch as if that would erase the anxiety. To a certain extent, it did.

We’d have problems and ones beyond what other married couples had. I had to deal with the new way of thinking as Gabriel’s husband.

The last two words repeated in my mind, and I smiled wider each time.

I stepped closer to the altar that earlier filled me with fear for our lives. There was still a similar scariness, but it was an exciting one – filled with possibilities for the future. Not only did I get the man I always wanted, but a change in life.

This is more than a move into another city. I was moving into another species. I couldn’t resist a smile as my heart beat faster within my chest.

Gabriel slowly spun me around. His warm hands traced a slow line down my arms that were smaller than his but still just what he liked. His forehead pinched together. “I hate to ask, because you might say no but–”

I looked up into his eyes and smiled. “Yes, I’m sure.”

His eyes shined bright, and he smiled so wide I half wondered if he hurt his face.

Never seen anybody else smile like that for me before.

He swallowed hard. “Some things will seem… weird.”

I nodded. I could ask questions, but I figured the answers would come soon enough. One thing was certain – we’d have sex soon. So many possibilities went through my head, and I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do first.

I stepped back and took in the entire package that was Gabriel. There was much to admire but my gaze went down to his long and thick magnificent cock.
